Teen Vogue deleted a post from its website earlier this week after a comedy of errors related to the article’s status as “sponsored content” — i.e., a paid advertisement.
Titled “How Facebook Is Helping Ensure the Integrity of the 2020 Election,” the post went through several revisions, first carrying no advertising disclosure at all, then one was added, then it was removed, and at one point the article boasted the byline of a freelance writer who said she didn’t write it. Finally, the entire post was deleted.
