Former U.S. vice president (and current presidential candidate) Joe Biden is by no means alone among politicians in making embarrassing verbal blunders, but it seems to happen so frequently that some observers have taken to calling him a “gaffe machine.”
A case in point is a remark attributed to Biden in 2019 during a speech on education: “Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”
