Does the ornate design stamped onto every Oreo cookie bear a hidden message dating back to the Knights Templar and the origins of Freemasonry?

That was the question Snopes.com’s David Emery set out to answer when he explored the history of Oreos and the possible meanings of the symbology thereupon. What he found was a riddle wrapped in an enigma between two chocolate wafers and a luscious cream filling.
