Earlier this month, social media users reported their cameras were opening in the background, unbidden, while users scrolled their feeds on Facebook’s mobile application.
As Snopes.com’s Dan Evon reports, the worrisome phenomenon prompted a statement from Guy Rosen, the vice president of integrity at Facebook, confirming that such a bug existed and that the company had already submitted a fix to the app store.
Fortunately for everyone affected by it, there was no evidence that videos or photographs were uploaded due to the bug.
