'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' Mysteries, Explained

Featured on Snopes today: A brief history of the "War on Christmas," Russian state TV refers to President Trump as an "agent," and rumors of mysterious deaths during the filming of "Cats."

U.S. President Donald Trump took another victory lap in the so-called “War on Christmas” this week when he reminded an appreciative crowd that his promise to have department stores say “Merry Christmas” again had been kept.

“They’re all saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again,” Trump said. “You remember?” The audience applauded, though it’s unclear exactly which department stores he was talking about or what he had done to effect this change.

The notion that some sort of widespread movement exists to ban or marginalize Christmas in America is not a new one, Snopes.com’s David Emery reports. Henry Ford was already complaining about it in the 1920s.
