In 2025, rumors about convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein spread widely online, amid calls for federal authorities to release files related to his sex trafficking case. Many claims focused on Epstein's private island or his connection to U.S. President Donald Trump.

The rumor mill intensified after the House Oversight Committee released more than 20,000 documents related to Epstein in late 2025, spurring claims about what Epstein supposedly wrote in various emails and how the alleged evidence related to Trump.
