Harris and Walz Announced Assault Weapons Ban, Not Gun Ban, During Rally

Since Democratic U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris began her 2024 presidential campaign, she has been at the center of numerous rumors about things she has supposedly said or done. We've looked into many of them, including her claim that she worked at McDonald's when she was a college student, as well as whether she said she was a gun owner.

Some claims include former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, such as the assertion promoted by Harris that he would supposedly sign a national abortion ban or "invite trade wars" with his proposed plan for tariffs.

In addition to those rumors, we've also fact-checked images and videos targeting Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, her running mate, and alleged statements by them. We've done the same for Trump and vice-presidential candidate JD Vance.
