U.S. first lady Melania Trump's alleged ties to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have long generated rumors and public discourse on social media.

In June 2026, a long-standing and unverified rumor that the first lady first met President Donald Trump through Epstein resurfaced after a Brazilian model, Amanda Ungaro, repeated the claim on social media. Ungaro is the ex-partner of Zampolli, an agent who previously represented Melania Trump.

During an unexpected April 2026 statement to the press, the first lady denied connections to Epstein. In the aftermath, Snopes fact-checked a real email sent by Melania Trump to Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell that the first lady characterized as "casual correspondence." We have also looked into numerous fake images attempting to show the former model with Maxwell and Epstein.
