When U.S. President Donald Trump took the oath of office in January 2025, Karoline Leavitt became the White House's new press secretary — the youngest person ever to have the job.
Nominated at age 27, Leavitt grew up in New Hampshire — in a home where "Fox News was always on," the Washington Post reported — and was a college student during Trump's first presidential term. In 2022, she ran an unsuccessful congressional campaign, and Trump's third presidential campaign tapped her to be its press secretary in early 2024.
