U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration's embrace of content generated by artificial intelligence has generated public controversy during his second term.

In April 2026, for example, the president posted and then deleted an AI-generated post on Truth Social that depicted him in the likeness of Jesus Christ, drawing criticism from both sides of the aisle. Some of the AI-generated posts shared by the Trump administration have also spread misinformation, such as a video promoting fake cure-all devices known as "med beds."

Snopes frequently receives inquiries about AI-generated content allegedly posted by Trump or the White House, including an AI video of Trump poop-bombing protesters and an image of the president as the pope

Here are nine articles examining AI-generated content posted by Trump or the White House. For help identifying this kind of material yourself, see our list of tips to spot AI pictures online.

An image of U.S. President Donald Trump wearing classic white robe and red sash, garments with which Jesus often appears in traditional representations. A halo of light emanates from Trump. He seems to touch the forehead of a white man lying in a bed as two white women (one of them a medical care provider) and two white men (one of them a soldier) seem to pray on their knees around him. Behind him to the right of the image, the Statue of Liberty appears. In the sky above him, five figures stand or walk, four of whom seem to be soldiers. The central figure has no head, but horns, and two appendages raised awkwardly in the air, suggesting an AI hallucination — nonexistent or nonsensical visual objects Generative AI sometimes creates. On the left, a U.S. flag floats in the sky.
