We don't just watch football in the United States. We may be "spectators," but true fans never stop participating verbally during the game, whether they're data heads debating new rules or couch-bound referees scoffing at any choice the officials, coaches, players, or commentators make. All that talking and sharing information is bound to give a legend or two enough legs to rush the truth.
