A photograph (archived) shared in a thread posted to X on April 8, 2025, claimed to show the "real size" of various animals, including a large, two-footed bearlike animal that towers over a man. The photo, which seemed aged and taken in an icy environment, had received more than 1.4 million views at the time of publication.

Both Yeti (also known as the Abominable Snowman) and Bigfoot (also known as Sasquatch) are mythical beings described in folklore as large, ape-like creatures, each with its own geographical ties. Yeti is associated with the Himalayan region, while Bigfoot is said to be found in North American forests.
The creator provided no context or information to support the image's authenticity.
Furthermore, the online AI-detection tool Hive Moderation found that the image was 99.6% "likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content," as shown in the screenshot below:

There are also subtle clues that the image was generated using a digital tool. For example, there appear to be buttons on the front of the man's jacket, yet there is no seam down the middle of the clothing piece. Neither the man nor the "yeti" casts a shadow, and upon a closer look, the man's hands appear unnatural, misshapen, and a blend of both gloves and mittens.

Snopes has a long history of debunking AI-generated imagery, including a photo that showed hundreds of bears forming a blockade to Yellowstone National Park and a video with hundreds of people trapped on a sinking ship. Those stories and more can be read here.
