In July 2025, online users shared a rumor alleging Britain's Prince William stripped away a royal family title from Queen Camilla's grandson after he bullied William's son Prince George.
Searches of Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and Yahoo revealed users primarily sharing this rumor in numerous YouTube videos. Others also shared the matter on Facebook, TikTok and X.
For example, on June 20, a manager of the YouTube channel named The Spotlight List posted a video (archived) titled, "Prince William STRIPS Royal Title From Camilla's Grandson After CAUGHT Bullying Prince George." The video received over 842,000 views, as of this writing.

However, those same searches of the four search engine websites also found no news media outlets reporting about William stripping anyone of a royal title. Rather, the rumor was simply the latest in a long line of YouTube videos featuring fabricated stories and artificial intelligence (AI)-generated voice narration about prominent figures in the entertainment business and politics — as well as anyone associated with the royal family — all for YouTube monetization via ad revenue. Facebook users sharing article links in the comments under posts sought ad revenue from their blogs, as well.

Two weeks prior to the video on The Spotlight List's YouTube channel, on June 6, a manager of the Investing Mania channel (@investingmania1718) posted a video (archived) with the same title.
The video, which received over 200,000 views, featured a text description reading as follows:
Prince George came home in tears after being bullied by Camilla's grandson at a royal family event. What followed was explosive: Prince William stripped the boy of any future royal title—and banned him from events involving his children. Camilla is furious, Charles is torn, and the monarchy has just changed forever.
The Investing Mania channel's video displayed an AI-generated — meaning completely fake — thumbnail image depicting an angry William facing down a similarly angry Camilla, along with a boy loudly bullying a crying George. The image read, "Breaking: 5 Minutes Ago." The YouTube clip's narrator did not specify a name for the boy, only repeating "Camilla's grandson." (The thumbnail image shared by The Spotlight List also showed a fake view allegedly showing a boy warning George.)

The Investing Mania channel did not offer any email contact methods in the video, in the clip's description or with its bio. Nor did it include disclaimers about publishing untrue content.
YouTube creators publishing similar content also uploaded other ad-filled videos in June featuring different members of the royal family alongside fabricated title-stripping rumors. For example, one of those video (archived) titles read, "William STRIPS Royal Title After Camilla's Granddaughter CAUGHT Bullying Princess Charlotte BADLY." If any such news had truly occurred, news media outlets around the world would have rushed to cover the matter.
