No Proof Photo Shows Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton After Trump's Win

A photo posted to Reddit on Nov. 7, 2024, just days after former U.S. President Donald Trump won the 2024 presidential election, allegedly shows "Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris after the 2024 election results," according to the user who shared it.

In the picture, Harris and Clinton are seated together and facing away from the camera. One Reddit user commented, "She looks depressed and tired …" presumably in reference to the vice president.

The Reddit post (archived), which showed up in reverse image search results as the earliest posting of the photo, has amassed more than 146,000 upvotes as of this writing. With the same caption, the photo has also garnered more than 13 million views on X. 

However, we have yet to uncover definitive evidence to determine the photo's origin — such as who took it and where. We've reached out to the Reddit user who originally posted it for more information.

There's evidence to suggest the photo was taken years before the 2024 presidential election. The outfits worn by the two politicians match those they wore during a Nov. 3, 2022, campaign event, suggesting that the photo was taken then.

Snopes has reached out to spokespeople for Harris and Clinton to ask if they have information about the photo and whether the two were together following Harris' 2024 loss.

Outfits Match Those Photographed at Event During 2022 Midterm Elections

While the origin of the photo remains a mystery, evidence suggests that it was taken on Nov. 3, 2022 — five days before that year's midterm elections. On that day, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul posted a picture on X of herself, Harris and Clinton at a campaign event at Barnard College in New York City.

In the photograph, Harris and Clinton were wearing the same clothes and jewelry as seen in the picture posted to Reddit in late 2024. 

Harris wore a black blazer and trousers, a navy top and a navy pearl necklace, as well as a badge on the left lapel of her jacket. Similarly, Clinton wore a tan jacket with a dark stripe on the left shoulder, a navy top, a gold pendant necklace and gold stud earrings.

While it's unlikely, the matching outfits could be coincidental. Since we have yet to confirm the photo's backstory, we do not have definitive proof that it was taken during the 2022 campaign event.

There's No Evidence Harris, Clinton Met After 2024 Election Results

Between Election Day on Nov. 5 and Nov. 7, 2024, which was when the Reddit photo was posted, Harris only made a few public appearances.

They included calling voters on Nov. 5 and her concession speech on Nov. 6. Pictures from those days show she was wearing different outfits from the one seen in the Reddit photo. Furthermore, the badge she wore during her concession speech was a different shape than the one in the Reddit picture.

Meanwhile, on Nov. 5, Clinton posted on Facebook to say she and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, had voted at their local polling station. Again, Clinton was wearing a different outfit from the one in the Reddit photo.

Snopes found no credible news reports that Harris and Clinton met at any point between election night and Nov. 7.
