A rumor that circulated online in May 2025 claimed a video depicted clips and mug shots associated with the killings of two hooded Ku Klux Klan members after they arrived at an Atlanta "hood" park. The video displayed two mug shots of white men superimposed on footage showing a police presence at an outdoor gathering of Black people.

For example, numerous users posting on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok shared the video with various captions including "2 KKK Hooded Members Unalived Atlanta Hood," "Two white men in klan hood went to a Atlanta park and FAFO" and "Two Men Shot and Killed after wearing Klan Hoods." Some popular posts specifically mentioned Atlanta, while others did not

However, searches of Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and Yahoo found no news media outlets reporting about recent killings of klan members in the U.S. A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department's public affairs unit said no such incident involving the KKK occurred in the city.

A reverse-image search for the two mug shots led to a 2023 crime report (archived) from the Birmingham, Alabama, news station WBMA. The story's headline read, "Men shot each other's daughters during road rage incident in Florida, authorities say." The article's author made no mention of Atlanta or the klan.

Meanwhile, the video clips showing a police presence at a park originated from an event known as "Glenwood Day," occurring on April 27, 2025, in Decatur, Georgia, northeast of Atlanta. An Instagram clip documenting the event showed the same two white Hummers and man riding a horse both visible in the in-question video.

Blaine Clark, a public information officer for DeKalb County, where Decatur is located, told Snopes by email, "We did receive notification of this video, but there were no deadly shootings. The video itself appears to be from a local event called Glenwood Day, held at the end of April." Clark also referenced the unrelated 2023 road-rage incident in Florida, adding, "When the DeKalb County Police Department learned of the video, investigators also cross-checked the images of the males, which appear to be from news stories out of Florida."
