About this rating

On May 31, 2025, social media users shared an image that appeared to be a screenshot of a post from U.S. President Donald Trump's Truth Social account. In the alleged post, Trump demanded that people stop calling him names and listed nicknames he "will not tolerate being called."

"STOP CALLING ME NAMES!" the first sentence of the alleged post read. The post went on to list a handful of nicknames, including "TACO," "Man-Baby," "Tiny Hands," "Grifter-in-Chief," "Don the Con" and "DonOld."

"Don't make me throw ketchup at the wall, because I will," the alleged post's last sentence read.

The alleged screenshot included Truth Social's verified red check next to Trump's name and more than 4,000 ReTruths, the term Truth Social uses for reposts.

Posts sharing the purported screenshot appeared on X (archived), Facebook (archived) and Reddit (archived). One X post sharing the claim garnered more than 1.5 million views and 30,000 likes, as of this writing.

However, there is no evidence of this post on Trump's official Truth Social account. Therefore, we've rated this post as a fake.

We searched Trump's account (archived) and did not find any posts that include the text shared in screenshots on social media.

The website Trump's Truth — which archives every post from Trump's official Truth Social account, including deleted ones — also had no record (archive) of Trump ever posting, "Don't make me throw ketchup at the wall, because I will."

A Google search for the phrase "STOP CALLING ME NAMES" limited to links with the URL for Trump's official Truth Social account did not return any results. There's no evidence that the post appeared on any of Trump's other social media accounts, either.

Snopes reached out to the White House about the post's authenticity. A spokesperson asked whether we had seen the post on the president's Truth Social account but did not provide further comment.

It's unclear who originally posted the fake screenshot on social media.

We have looked into a number of fake Truth Social posts that have been falsely attributed to the president over the years. It is easy for people to create fake posts for Truth Social and other social media platforms using online generators
