Everyone has had the unpleasant experience of being stuck in line behind less than considerate fellow patrons at a fast food restaurant, and this Burger King story shared by a Reddit user

is, at the very least, one that illustrates the "l'esprit d'escalier" we all feel after becoming truly irritated by unpleasant folk in public.

The Reddit thread in which the allegedly quite clever Burger King customer admits his quietly vengeful quickly went viral after an initial post on Reddit titled "Am I a bad person for this?" The poster set a scene of noisy childhood misbehavior, and claimed to have witnessed a poorly-mannered little cretin demanding an apple pie while waiting in line at Burger King. He or she explained:

End scene.

The Reddit user who shared the tale of a badly behaving boy in Burger King and his apple pie revenge scheme has since been gifted "Reddit Gold" (on-site currency awarded for well-liked posts and comments) more than once for his story of cleverly spiting the allegedly errant child and his purportedly disinterested parent-on-duty, but the account's veracity was dubious because the very same story had previously been reported as a real-life retail occurrence,. Nonetheless, the amusing nature of the anecdote and its inherently satisfying conclusion were sufficient to propel the story into the top rankings of social media posts.
