Leonard Nimoy of 'Star Trek' Dead at 83.

Leonard Nimoy, the actor who played Spock on Star Trek, has passed away at the age of 83.

The New York Times reported that Nimoy passed away at his home in Los Angeles on 27 February 2015. His wife Susan Bay Nimoy said that the cause of his death was chronic obstructive pulmonary disease:

Leonard Nimoy was best known for his work on Star Trek, but he also appeared on numerous television shows such as Sea Hunt, Gunsmoke, and Mission Impossible.

Nimoy penned two autobiographies as well as a few collections of his poetry. His last message on Twitter was a poem that he had written for his book "These Words Are for You":
