'Discworld' Author Terry Pratchett Dead at 66

On 12 March 2015, author Terry Pratchett died at the age of 66. Pratchett, author of the popular Discworld series of fantasy novels, revealed in 2007 that he had been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.

A statement posted to Pratchett's official Facebook page read:

The world has lost one of its brightest, sharpest minds. Rest in peace Sir Terry Pratchett.
