The claim stemmed from a video series produced by influencers "Chris and Jasmin."

In December 2024, Snopes users started searching for a claim about a millionaire blessing a McDonald's employee with $1,000 in cash.

One Facebook video posted on Sept. 1, 2024, appeared to feature such an act of goodwill. Its caption read: "Millionaire blessed Mcdonald employee with $1,000 cash. This Original Video was created by Chris and Jasmin."

A Google search unearthed dozens of versions of the claim, seemingly all alongside videos produced by the YouTube channel "Chris and Jasmin."

Though there were many examples of the rumor online, upon inspection, these examples all came from pages linked to the influencers Chris Foster and Jasmin Gomez (now Foster).

For example, the September Facebook video was posted on the page "Jasmin Gomez Short Films." Likewise, another video from the series — featuring a different worker but a similar scenario and the same man's voice behind the camera — was posted in June to the page "Chris Foster Show."

Other iterations featured on Facebook pages such as "Providing Assistance" and "There Are No Limits." These videos could also be found on Chris and Jasmin's YouTube channel. The "Providing Assistance" page's profile picture shows Chris Foster. Meanwhile, "There Are No Limits" exclusively reposts Chris and Jasmin videos.

As for the authenticity of the videos, Chris and Jasmin's Facebook page describes the content as "scripted drama." However, as this does not necessarily mean that the acts of charity seen in the videos are not genuine, we have not given a rating to this post, pending comment from Chris and Jasmin.

Other elements of the page also indicate that the offers in the videos are not meant to be understood as genuine. Looking at the McDonald's series, in January 2024, a McDonald's manager is "gifted" a pink Tesla. However, an identical pink Tesla can be seen on Jasmin Gomez's Instagram page in May of the same year. The car's number plate is not visible in the video, however, leaving open the possibility that two cars existed, with one given away.

Additionally, under several of the videos on YouTube, the Chris and Jasmin channel has commented: "How many think it's fake." We have asked whether this is a nod to the "scripted" description of their Facebook page or a genuine question to viewers.

Separately, as of this writing, it was also not possible to confirm whether either Chris or Jasmin could be classed as a "millionaire", as presented in the videos.
