The city of Chicago , known for its deep-dish pizza, its own style of hot dog, a variety of professional sports teams, some of the most renowned museums in the United States and being the birthplace of Pope Leo XIV, is often at the center of political talking points on both sides of the aisle.
For instance, U.S. President Donald Trump put the Windy City in the spotlight during his second term by alleging it was "the murder capital of the world" and threatening to deploy the National Guard there to help curb crime.
With those events putting Chicago in the nation's public eye, we've put together a collection of 20 rumors involving the city that Snopes has investigated throughout the years.
