Earlier this week, former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's 2020 presidential campaign was the target of a common election season smear aimed at casting doubt on the candidate’s patriotism.

According to a viral Facebook post, the campaign ordered a public library where Biden’s wife was scheduled to appear to remove the American flag because “they did not want to say the Pledge of Allegiance.”
