A rumor that circulated online in October 2025 claimed Super Bowl-winning center Jason Kelce commented in defense of the NFL announcing rapper
Politico reported U.S. President Donald Trump "blasted" the NFL for their decision to cast the Puerto Rico-born rapper — who mostly performs in Spanish — in the halftime performance's lead role, including saying, "Never heard of him." The conservative organization Turning Point USA, co-founded by slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has since announced their own alternative halftime show they dubbed "The All American Halftime Show," which they said will celebrate "faith, family and freedom."
As for the Jason Kelce rumor, on Oct. 14, conservative commentator Dinesh D'Souza shared (archived) a meme featuring the quote on Instagram.

Conservative activist David Harris Jr. also posted (archived) the quote on Oct. 13 with a single image displaying two photos, including one of Bad Bunny and another of Jason Kelce.

An Oct. 12 post (archived) from X user @smc429 received around 1.5 million views. Additionally, another popular user reposted (archived) the quote on Facebook, as did other users on Bluesky (archived), Facebook, Reddit (archived), Threads (archived) and X (archived).

In short, Jason Kelce never made any such statements. Searches of Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and Yahoo found no news media outlets, sports-centric or otherwise, reporting any news of Kelce saying these words. Had he issued the comments, outlets worldwide would have widely covered the matter.
Snopes contacted Jason Kelce for comment via the Wondery podcast company, including asking for official confirmation that he never made any such remarks. Wondery manages the "New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce" podcast, featuring Jason Kelce with his brother, Travis. Travis Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl-winning tight-end, is engaged to be married to 14-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist Taylor Swift.
Shortly after we emailed Wondery, Jason Kelce posted (archived) on X, "I normally don't comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now." He did not directly address the Bad Bunny rumor but did add, "But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real."
We also reached out to D'Souza and Harris to ask for comment regarding this matter, as well as to inquire about the source they consulted before reposting the quote.
According to searches of the "New Heights" podcast's YouTube text captions, the Kelces did not mention Bad Bunny or the upcoming halftime show by name on any recent episodes.
For further reading, we previously reported on many rumors about Travis Kelce, including one claiming he sued White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt for $50 million.
