A rumor circulated online in mid-July 2025 that U.S. President Donald Trump posted a message on his Truth Social account that included the line "MAGA agrees that 14 year-old girls are almost women anyway."
For example, a user named Loren Scott posted the claim (archived) in a Facebook group on July 15:
VICTORY! Last night the RULES COMMITTEE chaired by Virginia Foxx voted NOT to allow an amendment proposed by Jim "Baldy" McGovern to some legal thing that would have FORCED the Attorney General (the lovely Pam Bondi) to "preserve and release any records related to Jeffrey Epstein". NOBODY wants to see that stuff! There is NOTHING to see there! These aren't the droids you're looking for! And, even if I am in the Epstein files, MAGA agrees that 14 year-old girls are almost women anyway. It's not a big deal.

Variations of the rumor spread on other Facebook accounts (archived, archived) as well as Bluesky (archived) and Threads.
Some readers seemed to interpret the rumor as a factual recounting of real-life events. However, there was no evidence of Trump posting the quote in question. A Google search of "Trump '14 year-old girls are almost women anyway'" turned up only two results, both Facebook posts.

No credible news outlet reported on such a quote, and a search of the keywords "14 year-old girls" (archived) on an archive of Trump's Truth Social account did not turn up the alleged post in the circulated image.
Rather, the rumor that Trump posted the quote regarding 14-year-old girls appears to have originated with Scott, the Facebook user — who described the post as being satirical in nature. The caption of the post read: "Satire... barely" and the user also liked a comment that read: "THIS IS SATIRE. THE OP STATED AS MUCH. NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY." Scott confirmed via email that he was the creator of the image and that it was satirical.
The fictional post spread as pressure mounted on Trump's administration to release more files related to deceased child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was photographed with Trump and who Trump once said was a "terrific guy."
Snopes has addressed similar fake or satirical claims regarding Trump and underage girls, including a fake video of Trump pointing at a preteen girl while standing with Epstein's criminal partner Ghislaine Maxwell and a fake image of Trump and Epstein with a young girl. Snopes has also published a breakdown of child rape allegations against Trump.
For background, here is why we alert readers to rumors created by sources that call their output humorous or satirical.
