On Sept. 2, 2025, dozens of social media posts claimed U.S. President Donald Trump publicly accused the leaders of some of the world's most powerful nations – Russia's Vladimir Putin, North Korea's Kim Jong Un and China's Xi Jinping – of conspiring against the U.S.

The three leaders met in China's capital city of Beijing alongside Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others to reaffirm their nations' alliance in early September 2025.

The claim spread on several platforms, including X (archived), Reddit (archived) and Threads (archived), with one such X post (archived) receiving more than 12.9 million views:

Some commenters questioned the image's authenticity, but the screenshot of the post was authentic. Trump wrote the message (archived) on Sept. 2, with part of the message apparently directed to Jinping (emphasis ours):

The big question to be answered is whether or not President Xi of China will mention the massive amount of support and "blood" that The United States of America gave to China in order to help it to secure its FREEDOM from a very unfriendly foreign invader. Many Americans died in China's quest for Victory and Glory. I hope that they are rightfully Honored and Remembered for their Bravery and Sacrifice! May President Xi and the wonderful people of China have a great and lasting day of celebration. Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against The United States of America. PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump posted the statement on his social media platform Truth Social:

Trump did not specify what historic events he was referring to when he wrote, "Many Americans died in China's quest for Victory and Glory," though he may have meant World War II.

According to one Russian journalist's Telegram channel, a top Kremlin foreign policy aide, Yuri Ushakov, dismissed the conspiracy allegations, saying:

I want to say that no one organized any conspiracies, no one was weaving anything, no conspiracies. … Moreover, no one even had that in their minds, none of these three leaders had that.

In response, Trump said  of the other world leaders during a news conference on Sept. 3, "My relationship with all of them is very good, we're going to find out how good it is in the next week or two." His full comments were as follows:
