About this rating

In June 2026, social media users alleged a new batch of Jeffrey Epstein's federal case files showed U.S. President Donald Trump visited the late sex offender's island 345 times, referring to Little St. James in the Caribbean Sea.

For example, on June 7, a Bluesky user posted (archived) a meme supposedly showing Epstein forcefully holding a woman whose face officials blacked out. The meme also featured one of Trump's official portraits superimposed in the upper-left corner. The image displayed attribution to "Breaking Point 360" and read, "Breaking News: New Epstein files show that Trump visited Epstein's island 345 times with Jeffrey Epstein."

Other users shared the same meme (archived) or rumor (archived) on Facebook (archived), Reddit (archived), Threads (archived) and X (archived).

In short, this rumor was false. Searches suggested the fabricated claim likely originated from an June 6 post on X (archived).

In an email to Snopes, the White House labeled the rumor as "obviously fake news." We also emailed the Justice Department to ask whether officials recently released any new batches of Epstein case files, as well as the X user who made the June 6 post to ask whether they originated the rumor or reposted the claim from a different source. We will update this article if we receive further information.

Researching the rumor

Searches of Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and Yahoo, as well as reverse image searches, failed to find any discussion about Epstein case files released in early June 2026. Those queries also did not locate news media outlets or other sources credibly reporting about Trump visiting Epstein's island 345 times.

As found in the aforementioned searches, on June 6, X user @_MegaPolitics posted (archived) two separate images, including one of Trump's official portraits and a photo of Epstein holding onto a woman — an authentic picture appearing about halfway down in the lengthy case file labeled "EFTA01648070." The post's caption read, "Breaking: New Epstein files show that President Donald Trump visited Epstein's island 345 times with Jeffrey Epstein."

Hours later that day, the Instagram user @breakingpoint.360 appeared to use the @_MegaPolitics X post and images as the basis for a post (archived) containing the meme other users later reposted. That post's caption read, "The SHOCKING new Epstein documents are sending global shockwaves, claiming Donald Trump visited the NOTORIOUS island 345 times. As citizens demand ACCOUNTABILITY for the victims, these massive allegations raise tough questions on elite impunity and TRUE justice."

Trump and Epstein

In 2002, Trump told New York magazine he believed Epstein to be a "terrific guy," adding, "It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side." He appeared with Epstein in numerous photos, as well as a widely-circulated video recorded in 1992 at Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida.

A batch of Epstein's case files released in December 2025 included a document alleging flight records showed Trump flew on Epstein's plane at least eight times in the 1990s. Trump had previously claimed on Truth Social in January 2024, "I was never on Epstein's Plane, or at his 'stupid' Island." Referring to the island, he reiterated in January 2026, "I was never there."

The past friendship between Trump and Epstein also allegedly involved a sexually suggestive birthday card, as well as a purported falling out between the pair.

Officials have never presented credible evidence confirming Trump visited Epstein's island.

For further reading, we previously fact-checked numerous claims allegedly linking first lady Melania Trump with Epstein and his associate, convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.
