Snopes readers shared an alleged screenshot of the post (archived) that circulated on Threads and asked whether it was authentic. The text of the so-called post read

The screenshot also appeared to show that the post was shared at 12:38 a.m. on June 7, 2026.
However, Trump did not share such a post. Searches for keywords from the alleged post returned no relevant results across both Trump's Truth — an archive of the president's Truth Social posts, including deleted ones — and Roll Call's Factbase, another reputable database of Trump's social media activity. As such, we rate this screenshot as fake.
Snopes also searched for reports from credible news outlets using quotes from the supposed post, but found no coverage confirming that Trump ever posted the message on Truth Social. Likewise, searches of Google, Bing (archived) or DuckDuckgo (archived) found no evidence that the post was real. A reverse image search of the screenshot directed us to a Threads account that shares content critical of Trump.
The webpage trumpcup26.com directed us to a site that encouraged soccer fans to register, obtain a $100 cryptocurrency bonus and access various "fan rewards" like "VIP match experiences, stadium tours, official merch packs, travel packages and final match prizes." As of this writing, it was unclear who was behind the website and contact information was unavailable.
We contacted the White House to determine whether the Trump administration is affiliated with the website. Over email, a spokesperson denied any affiliation.

According to Reuters' estimates, the Trump family has made more than $2 billion from cryptocurrency. The president has also promised to make the United States the "crypto capital of the world."
